Hello organicfeedsales,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

or

Jul 11, 2014 Question: How can I disable the Do not Disturb / DND and/or Call forwarding options on the Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Thank you Steffen,

My UC Software Version is 4.1.6.4835

Does anyone know of a simple way for this non-tech guy to keep my VVX310 from autonomously going into Do Not Disturb mode?

Or is there a tech out there who knows how to fix this problem that I could hire to do it remotely?

I'm just a sole proprietor trying to run a business and don't have any training or understanding of the instructions provided in Steffen's response.  I've been working with Phone Power technical support and they've been great but don't know how much more they are willing to do to solve this problem.  They say I'm the only customer they've heard from who has a VVX310 that goes into DND mode by itself.  Recent attempt to insert code setting the DND parameter to 0 didn't work.  When I came in to the office first thing this morning the phone had reset itself to DND again.

Thanks, Lowell

Hello organicfeedsales,

The software you are using, as outlined in the FAQ post, does not support the feature as it was only added in 5.1.1

The Software you are running is no longer supported and you should install 5.5.0 or at least 5.4.4

The Polycom reseller who sold the phone is your tier 1 support and if they cannot help you they will escalate into Polycom support.

If the phone is out of warranty you can purchase Pay per Incident support.

Please post a MAC address of a phone in question so I can lookup who will support you.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Steffan,

I am unaware of the VVX's going into DND mode by themselves but I have experienced and what he may actually be talking about is sleep mode.

Whenever one of my customers back office shop phones was not utilized in a give period of time I believe the default was 12 hrs...it would go from low power mode down to sleep mode and in sleep mode it was the same as Do Not disturb...

I ended up for any VVX's that are in out of the way places and may not be used regularly added the disable sleep mode...

Now granted it would be better to just adjust the DURATION time but I currently dont have the link to that thread  but I am sure you might know it, in case that is what this "Non-Technical" person is actually experiencing?

To turn off SLEEP mode

  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX310="0"
  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX300="0"
  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX410="0"
  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX400="0"
  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX500="0"
  • ind.pattern.powerSaving.step.1.state.VVX600="0"
