Downgrade Soundstation 6000 to a pre 4.0 UC release

I have a phone that I need to get to a very low UC release (in the 3's).  I've tried various methods utilizing SoundPoint_IP_BootROM_4_4_0B_Upgrader_release_sig and SoundPoint_IP_Updater_4_5_0B_Downgrader_release_sig, but I continue to receive errors stating the image is not compatible with the phone when trying to go into the 3.0 range of UC releases.

Is there a separate downgrader/bootrom that I need to utilize to get to a lower version than 4.0.7 (that is what the phone is currently running)?
