Hi,
I have been trying to set up a "transfer to voicemail" EFK, and I am almost there. Here is the relevant code snippet, taken almost directly from a website I found :
---
<softkey.2.label="Xfer2VM" softkey.2.action="!Xfer2VM" softkey.2.insert="4" softkey.2.use.active="1" softkey.2.use.idle="1" softkey.2.enable="1" /> <efk.efklist.2.mname="Xfer2VM" efk.efklist.2.status="1" efk.efklist.2.label="Xfer2VM" efk.efklist.2.action.string="*$P1N5$$Tinvite$" efk.efkprompt.1.status="1" efk.efkprompt.1.label="Extension" efk.efkprompt.1.type="numeric" />
---
When I press that new softkey, I am prompted for an exension, and if I enter 123, it will dial *123 (adding the star) and therefore reaching voicemail. Fair enough.
...BUT for me the point of the feature is not to save the user from pressing *, but to keep him from having to memorize everyone's extension. So I would like instead to be able to using this new EFK softkey and then press the person's extension on his Polycom 650 sidecar. All users' extensions are already defined, I just want them to press Xfer2VM and then press a speed dial key to transfert to *{EXTENSION}, saving them from memorizing everyone's extension just for the sake of voicemail transfers..
Is this feasible? How?

Hello mgaudette,
the EFK funtionality is explained from page 423 in the UCS 5.0.0 Admin guide onwards. The 87151 is an internal reference for cases raised by customers against specific issues.
The FAQ within the community also has some efk examples when utilizing softkeys.
You could use someting like (only part of an example):
$P1N4$$Trefer$ efk.efkprompt.1.type="numeric"
- P1 in above example would be the efk.efkprompt.x Parameters i.e efk.efkprompt.1
- N4 stands for allowing a 4 digit number in the prompt
- T is the embedded action type and refer would use the SIP method refer
In addition the efk.efklist.1 needs to be used to activate the prompt etc.
Using the community search => here <= delivers quite some examples already.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello mgaudette,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
This was already discussed => here <= and => here <= and is currently not supported.
You will need to raise this via your Polycom reseller as a feature request and work with a Polycom SE in order to present a business plan justifying this modification.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Steffen,
Release notes of 5.0.0 say this:
87151 The enhanced feature keys Blind Transfer and Voice Mail Transfer now work correctly.
To what does this note refer? I cannot find anywhere in the 5.0.0 admin guide where I would configure this correctly for my VVX phones.

Hello, I'm wondering if this is still the case? Is using Contacts instead of manually entering the Extension number still NOT supported?
I'm using 3cx with some IP 650's. With the following code, I can Press a Softkey and initiate an Intercom call or Transfer an active call to Voicemail of an Extension. But the user is still required to enter the extension number manually.
HOWEVER, if doing a Transfer, or Blind Transfer. Using a Contact assigned to a LineKey (BLF as 3cx calls it) you can complete those actions without having to enter the extension manually. While on a call, just Pressing the Hard Transfer button and then pressing the LineKey of the person you want to transfer to and it works as you would expect. Same is true for Blind Transfers.
In my simple understanding, it would seem this should be possible to do almost the same thing, Press the Intercom softkey then press the person you want and the phone automatically adds the *9 code to make the Intercom call.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Hello fioreit,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
To my knowledge this is still an unsupported feature and as explained above requires a feature request to be raised.
