Has anyone been able to create a EFK Softkey to blind transfer using the BLF key.

Scenario, call comes in on a Polycom 650 with 2 expansion modules, receptionist pickup the call, the callers would like Tom's voicemail, so we would like to press a soft key that comes available during an active call "TO VM" and than use the BLF Key on the expansion module. Any suggestions.

I did find the following but doesn't seem to work correctly specially since after the key you need user input in terms of pressing the BLF key.

Thanks

Hi there - I can't find a feature request forum, and our supplier is probably sick of me asking, so I figure I'll post my idea here and hope it gains some traction!  This is probably our most requested feature (and Y--links can kind of do it). 😉

Add two config lines:

device.blftovm=1

device.blftovm.prependkey="*95" (or whatever your specific prepend is for this based on your phone system)

The VVX series already supports a "long press" for adding speed dials and for changing transfer type.  What if the BLF key was programmed so that on a long press, it does the transfer while prepending the value specified to the BLF value.

So, while on a call i just hit the BLF key for someone at extension 120 - it gets transferred as normal (blind or attended) to extension 120.  However, if while on a call you LONG PRESS the BLF key, it prepends your value and then sends the call to *95120.

You already know where it is trying to go, so you don't have to mess around with concatenating two key values and such, and since the phones already support a long press it should make it simple to implement. 😉

Would be lovely if you could sneak that into 5.5.2 for us!
