We have 2 polycom 335 and the ringers are so so faint, nothing compared to our older Cisco 7940 phones, is there any external ringers or anything we can do to hear these phones in a restaurant environment?

Hello Rockstar Pizza,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

There is no external ringer that can be connected to our phones.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: How can I change my Ringtone or Ring in a special manner for a certain incoming call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above explains how to use the "loud ringer"

You could use the:

CyberData V3 SIP Office Ringer

Available where most SIP products are sold.

We made a small change to our Polycom VVX 201 Handset that has solved the problem of the ring not being load enough for our machine shop.

We added a small 3.5mm jack socket to the base that was in paralell with the small speaker on the base. We bought a small audio amp on ebay and connected it to loud speakers. All of this cost us less than £50 and does not effect the handset function in any way. Now when the phone rings it has 20 watts RMS of power that could wake the dead.

Would you mind sharing what exact products you bought? A few locations have too much noice and makes hearing the ringer on the VVX 201 impossible to hear. Your help would be very much appreciated!

Hi Frank,

Hey would you be able to provide part information of what was used like model number, part number and perhaps pictures?

This would surely help me out tons 🙂
