I've seen mulitple posts regarding this feature both here on the Polycom community site and other places.  I can't seem to find a clear answer as to whether this feature is available to all Polycom users, or if it is an exclusive feature that is only available to VoIP deployments using Broadsoft.  At my previous company running Polycom 4.03g with Broadsoft R17 SP2 this feature worked well.  If you dialed the FAC for DND you would get an X next to the line key indicating that the phone was in DND.  Same with CFWD.  If you dialed the FAC for CFWD, you would get an arrow next to the line key indicating that the phone had call fwd activated.  I'm currently interested in getting this feature working with Asterisk and Polycom 4.x.  However, I've been reading some disconcerning things here in the communiaty that this feature is only available when using Polycom phones with a Broadsoft application server due to a licensing issue.  Is this true?  If true, why would Polycom only allow this feature to be available to Broadsoft users?  The thread below seems to imply that this functionality is only available to Broadsoft users and that Polycom is only allowing Broadsoft users to deploy it through some type of licensing mechanism on post #20 By Steffan Baier.

Is there any updates on this functionality, or is it still only avalable to Broadsoft deployments?

Hello smference,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The post => here <= discusses the deActivateCodeSequence and ActivateCodeSequence which was part of UC Software 3.3.x for a specific customer.

This feature was developed for this customer only and to my knowledge it was not officially made public knowledge.

This is not part of any newer Software like 4.x.x or later as this specific customer simply has not yet requested this to be added.

The post 22 in the above discussion => here <= shares our Partner BroadSoft's Device Feature key Synchronization with the community in order to implement this into any other platform.

The above post 22 is the only officially supported method and the prior found functionality is for this customer, to my knowledge, exclusively.

I can only suggest you work with a Polycom reseller to check the feasibility to add this FAC functionality to any future versions.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
