[FAQ] Do Polycom phones support wildcard certificates?

No Polycom phones do not support wildcard certificates. We only support wildcards for Skype for Business.

UC Software 4.0.0 added the ability to disable the Common Name validation and therefor partly use utilize certificates with Polycom phones.

This allows a customer to utilize a certificate like:

*.example.com

The following configuration parameters can be utilized (check against the Admin Guide:

device.sec.TLS.dot1x.strictCertCommonNameValidation
device.sec.TLS.prov.strictCertCommonNameValidation
device.sec.TLS.syslog.strictCertCommonNameValidation
sec.TLS.SIP.strictCertCommonNameValidation
sec.TLS.SOPI.strictCertCommonNameValidation

Provisioning or SIP registration can also be enabled / disabled via the Web Interface
