An example configuration that can either be added via the => importing <= functionality of the Web Interface or loaded separately via a configuration file could look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<!-- PlcmConversionCreatedFile version=1.2 converted=Thu Feb  9 16:50:43 2012 -->
<polycomConfig xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="polycomConfig.xsd">
  <se>
    <se.pat>
      <se.pat.misc>
        <se.pat.misc.messageWaiting>
          <se.pat.misc.messageWaiting.inst se.pat.misc.messageWaiting.inst.1.value="0" se.pat.misc.messageWaiting.inst.2.value="0" se.pat.misc.messageWaiting.inst.3.value="0" />
        </se.pat.misc.messageWaiting>
      </se.pat.misc>
    </se.pat>
  </se>
</polycomConfig>

Note: Please be aware that if you are running a SIP Software before UCS 3.3.0 you will need to check the Admin Guide in order to verify the commands.

UCS 4.0.8 added the following:

Parameter Permitted Values Default
mwi.reminder.enable 0 or 1 0

If 1, a Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) tone plays each time the phone receives an MWI update.

If 0, no MWI tone is played.

NOTE: Future UC Software 5.2.2 > will also include this Parameter !
