Force Speaker operation on speed dials

Hello All

Does anyone know of a way to force the phone to use the speakerphone when using a speed dial and the handset is on the hook?

User pushes the speed dial button in thier directory or on the side console and it simply dials out with sound on the speaker only.

Currently the phone does perform this but every now and then it simply doesnt and I cant figure out why.

Handset is a VVX500 and cfg files are attached

Re: Force Speaker operation on speed dials

Hello @Ludwig,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Re: Force Speaker operation on speed dials

Sorry I forgot to mention the UC Software version is: 5.8.0.12848

And we are using Open SIP on a NEC SV9100 PBX as the SIP Server

Re: Force Speaker operation on speed dials

Hello @Ludwig,

I had a brief look at the attached backup and it states UC Software 5.5.1 and not as mentioned by you 5.8.0

In addition many of the parameters used are very specific for our Partner BroadSoft so I am unsure how you are using this for an NEC switch.

Its unusual not to always use the Speaker so we may need to look at some logs especially if this only happens since you updated the software.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

End Customers are unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

If the unit is no longer within warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Re: Force Speaker operation on speed dials

Hello @Ludwig,

as already outlined in my original reply you are using Broadsoft configuration but using a NEC SIP switch instead.

Broadsoft features will only work with a BroadSoft SIP platform so please just run a basic configuration.

If all fails as already explained open a ticket.
