Hello,

An IP7000 Conference phone was reset using the 'format file system' option by a tech at a remote site.

The phone now boots up, errors, and then restarts.

From what I can read, the phone has lost it's firmware (application data?) and we need to load the firmware back onto the phone using a provisioning server. Unfortunately, I cannot find instructions on how to do this... I can find the instructions for setting up a provisioning server, but as the phone is restarting I don't believe we can go into the menu options to manually point it to a provisioning server.

I note there is a provisioning server available at Removed by a moderator . Is it possible for me to use a DHCP option to tell the phone to download firmware directly from here?

I have tried option 66 and option 160 both with the string Removed by a moderator  but this doesn't seem to work.

I look forward to any guidance!

Thank you,

- Matt

This has been fixed.

When the phone is rebooting there was an option to enter a setup menu.

From there we entered details as per Removed by a moderator We used Removed by a moderator  as the server address.

The phone took a few minutes to download the firmware, and then rebooted and worked.

Hello Matt,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The originally posted Server address is for Polycom support customers only and cannot handle a large amount of traffic.

In addition you seem to have pointed the phone at a directory holding an unsupported software for your Phone. I have therefore removed the reference to this server.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above explains in detail how to setup a local provisioning server for yourself or anyone else facing this issue.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
