Hello Support Community

we are using Polycom IP7000 which is connected to Cisco Call Manager (CUCM 9.x).  The IP7000 (ext 8269) and a Cisco IP phone (ext 8268   ) are used by a boss.  IP7000 would be used to hold a conference call with multiple parties.

The question is when boss is using  IP7000 to holding a conference all with multiple parties, His secretary would like to forward a call from outsider to ext 8269, can we group the newly called in party into an existing conference held with IP7000.  If so, how to do it and what should be input on IP7000 keypad.  Thx.

Hello leerkc,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Just as an FYI the SSIP7000 can only have 2 separate calls in a conference in addition to yourself.

If you only have one call with yourself in a conference the other party can call the SSIP7000 and you can answer the call and simply select JOIN (may have to press more) and add this party into the conference.

Hello Steffen,

thank for your suggestion.  Got a couple questions regarding your FYIthe SSIP7000 can only have 2 separate calls in a conference in addition to yourself.

If SSIP7000 is with ext 8269 used by boss.  When his secretary made a conference call with her Cisco IP phone (which can support up to 8 party in a single conference call) involving three other parties, and transfer the conference all to ext 8269.

Q1. aware SSIP7000 can support three parties with Cisco Cal Manager 9.x, will SSIP7000 support more than 3 parties in a call transfer to it ?

Q2. Can I join 2 more parties on top of the call transfer from secretary.

Thank again for your help.

Hello leerkc,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: What is the maximum amount of participants in a conference call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

This should answer your question 1. This is and has always been the maximum amount on the SSIP7000 itself and all the phones listed in the above FAQ.

The Phone itself can only hold 3 calls. One of them is your own and the two others can be external / internal.

You can answer another or multiple other calls up to the limit of calls per line but you cannot conference more than the 3 calls.

I assume this answers your question 2.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
