Hi there,

I'm a total newb and can't get my phone to connect to RingCentral's provisioning server? I have found topics on this matter, but I don't understand how to fix this problem?

Basically, I can manually provision my phone to work with RingCentral's server, but it's not working through the assisted provisioning feature? I have a co-worker who purchased the same IP550 at the same exact time, and through the same exact vendor as I purchased mine and hers is working, yet mine isn't?

Any help would be appreciated - I'm LOSING IT!!

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.

I actually found that thread, but unfortunately, I'm not able to discern as to how I'm supposed to fix the issue? Am I missing something here?

Hello phonewb,

basically your phone is being told to load certain files but it cannot find some or all of them and therefore displays this message.

Usually your provisioning server holds a  <MAC Address>.cfg or 000000000000.cfg and within these files the config_files section declares one or multiple files and one or multiple of these cannot be found.

Please work with your support team of whoever offers the service to you.

Thanks for the claification - I've contacted RingCentral and they're saying that I need to take it up with Polycom? Is this something that someone can help me fix?

I have 8 of these IP550s and paid about $500 a piece many years ago and now they're not working. Are there any step-by-step directions that you can provide? I'm not sure what to do..

Hello phonewb,

so far you have not provided much details as it is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

It would be of interest if the working phones are running the same software version as the non working phones.

I can only recommend you ensure they are running the same software and you go ahead and factory default the phone that is not working.

As these phones are well out of warranty the next step would be to contact the Polycom reseller who sold them originally and if this fails provide me with the MAC of the non working phone so I can share the details of the reseller who can open a Pay Per Incident Support ticket with Polycom support for you.
