Hello,

We are switching to IP335 phones, our VOIP provider supplies these with firmware 3.2.3.revc.  One problem we are seeing, is that the headsets we plug into them (in the headset port) don't seem to work.  Audio can be heard over the earpiece, but the mic is non-functioning.  We tested these headsets (Plantronics HW251N) on a different model IP601 and these worked fine.  Our VOIP provider, Fonality, says there's nothing they can do from their end.

These headsets are explicitly mentioned as supported by Polycom on this phone, so I'm at a loss why these aren't working.  We now have several large boxes of IP335's to deploy to users, and we suddenly have a show stopper if the headsets don't work.

Is this a known issue, and is there anything I can do to the phone to resolve it?

Hello Rick,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This is most likely caused by the wrong headset adapter. Please work directly with your Polycom reseller and the Headset seller.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi,

The adapter is the Polycom A10-16, which works with our IP501/550/601 phones.  Only the IP335 is showing an issue.

What adapter would be recommended for the IP335?  We'd prefer to have one adapter that works with everything.

Hello Rikk,

your Headset reseller should be able to answer this.

In addition our Community FAQ contains this post here:
