We have deployed polycom 331 for our call centers agents and want to prevent the agents from using the DND feature, which results in a 486 Busy here response to an INVITE.

The only thing that seems to have worked is to set the following options in the sip.cfg file.

voIpProt.SIP.serverFeatureControl.dnd="1"

voIpProt.SIP.serverFeatureControl.localProcessing.dnd="0"

The first option results in the polycom endpoints sending subscribe messages to the SIP Server(Genesys), which returns 489 Bad Event,

Is there a way to disable DND on the phone locally without using the Server DND enabled option?

Also what other scenarios would the polycom 331 phone return 486 busy here?

Thanks,

Ted

Steffan,

The link was extremely helpful.

Could i use this entry to disable the DND on the 331 altogether without using the microbrowser application option as we do not have that deployed in our environment?

key.SIPIP331.34.function.prim="NULL"

Thanks,

Ted

I have implemented the solution link and it is still not working.

When we click menu on the 331 polycom the same menu options are still there.

I ran a wireshark trace on the webserver where I am hosting the spip3xx.html file and i see no gets for the html page and verified seeing traffic when i bring up the link in my browser.

Please help.

Thanks,

Ted

I upgraded to UCS 3.3.2 sip.ld and i see the microbrowser attempt to fetch the spip3xx.html page now, however the webserver is sending 406 response back to the polycom phone and the menu button is disabled.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ted

Stefan,

Yes, can load the link 'http://172.27.166.21/spip3xx.html in my browser and I can see the contents.  Clicking the settings link in my browser does nothing.

Hello Ted,

the Page will not action anything on your browser as it contains an internal URL pointing to the Settinsg Menu within the Phone.

The 406 error points towards your server not liking how the Polycom Phone tries to access the File:

HTTP Error 406

Not Acceptable: The resource identified by the request can only generate response entities that have content characteristics that are "not acceptable" according to the Accept headers sent in the request. Please contact the server's administrator if this problem persists.

This solution / tip has been tested on a Apache Web Server Installation running on an Ubuntu Box.

You may need to make some changes to that Web Server but this is outside the scope of this Polycom specific Forum.

I would not advise to disable the menu button completely as you shoud allow access to the Basic Settings like ringtones etc.

Best Regards
