Hello,

I would like to use IP-7000 as a microphone and speaker. I don't want to connect it via LAN - just connect with my computer as an external device. Is there any possibility to establish a connection between PC and Polycom to send signal to speaker and to revceive signal from microphone without LAN connection? When I switch Polycom on, there is info about network initialization. When I put jack cable in my PC nothing happens. Polycom wants to connect with LAN. Please help.

Thank you for your answer. I already have a computer calling kit (Y-cable microphone cable + speaker all in one), but I have a problem with configuration. My IP-7000 have never worked in LAN - I have't been using it. Now I've connected both cables (microphone and speaker) to my PC but nothing happened. Microphone doesn't work and there is no sound from IP-7000 too. On the LCD screen of Polycom, there is info "Waiting for network to initialize...". The only thing that I can do is to get into the LAN setting on device. What's more, I've never set up a LAN setting in my home for this device. What I have to do to make my Polycom works?

Hi,

that sounds like you are running an older software like SIP 3.2.x

Have a look in the FAQ here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

I would suggest to upgrade to at least UCS 3.3.4 or even newer.

Please utilize the community search if you get stuck as there are already multiple post about upgrading the phone software.

Best Regards
