All,

I have come across an issue with DND on the Polycom VVX phones; We use the hotdesking feature but have noticed that when the phone is logged on with a certain extension; and then the user activates DND and then logs out; The next person to log-in will 'inherit' the DND status of the extension logged in previously.

We could disable DND altogether, but this is not an option and logging off/logging back on requires more button presses than DND, so ideally we'd like something that would reset the phone's DND status to normal / off, when a user logs out of the handset.

Is anyone able to assist on how this could be achieved in the .cfg files ?

thanks,

Regards,

Leo

Hello Leo,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include what server you are using.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

HI thank you,

by 'hotdesking' I mean we have given people the ability on the VVX  to log in / out using a username and password instead of a statically assigned extension to the phone.

please see attached photo as an example of what the VVX looks like when hotdesking.  it is ready for an end user to enter their own username and password which relate to the extension.

Hello Leo,

I briefly replicated this internally and can verify that I believe I can reproduce the same.

I have opened an internal ticket but in order to get a customer affected issue raised you would need to work with your Polycom reseller to get an official support case opened.

Please provide me with the MAC address of one of the phones so I can tell you who to work with.

Hello Leo,

This was sold via Siphon Networks Ltd but I believe VCom has raised cases with us in the past.

Can you go ahead and work with them and quote 1-1995497228 / VESC-6026 so it can be directly escalated to myself?
