Hi,

Can i set up the polycom VVX and Sound Point Phones to get the pop-up (your phone upgraded to x.x.x) on the screen after the  phone upgrade?

is there any way to do that? (not for Lnyc edition phones).

Thanks...

Hi Steffen,

My apologies for the late responce, Polycom phones use https by default and CURL message indicating in your post is refering to http. but I figured hpw CURL message will send https and below is the example.

curl --digest -u Push:Push -d "<PolycomIPPhone><Data priority=\"critical\">welcome To Polycom</Data></PolycomIPPhone>" -H "Content application/x-com-polycom-spipx" -k https://PHONE IP/push

My question is: push message is displaying for 10sec only on the phone display, is there any way that i can increase the time? UC software has any mechanism that can send the acknowledgment to the server. so that i can control the push message as long as i want (until  user press some button)

Thanks,

Rajakiran

Hello Rajakiran,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

To my knowledge this is a LYNC / Skype for Business feature only.

Not sure what your provisioning platform is but you could look at the "PUSH" Features and push a HTML page to the Phone. The FAQ has a few examples.

Hi Steffen,

thanks for the quick replay, we are using the broadsoft (global provisioning). I was gone trough some of the polycom documents, but none of the documents explained me about how to build the web server to use the PUSH notifications for the polycom phones.

finally i fond this document, but i didn't see any explanation about the web server in it!

Hello ,

you may want to have a look at the following Parameter:

prov.usercontrol.enabled="1"

The Admin Guide states it is enabled by Default but it is not.

Only briefy looking at our Configuration after a phone reboot it should display a message and allow the user to postpone the upgrade.

You could trigger this during the day via a PUSH message:

Action:UpdateConfig

Please have a play with this.

Hello Rajakiran,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 14, 2015 Question:Finding the default values for configuration parameters for Polycom Phones?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

You may also want to consult the Admin Guide and/or the software release notes

For further details if nobody answers please open a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. In case this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post your phone's MAC address so I can look up who would be able to support you.
