I have a Polycom VVX300 running UC Software Version 5.9.5.0614 on a Metaswitch.  I am trying to disable the VAD.  I have used the Export feature in the phone to downlad the Config file.  I change the voice.vadEnable="1" to voice.vadEnable="0"  I then import the phone back into the phone, which then goes to a reboot.  I export the Config file again to check to see if the change took affect and it has not.  VAD is still enabled.  I have also downloaded a Backup file, made the same change, and restored the file.  I get the same results.  VAD still enabled.  I have checked all the FAQs and Admin Guides and they tell me to change 1 to 0 to disable the vad but nothing explains how to apply that change to the phone.  I have been racking my brain for a week on this and can not find a solution.  Has anyone made a change to the phone files and successfully uploaded them to the phone?

Hello @jeffbunstone ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

The default value of the parameter is:

<xsd:attribute name="voice.vadEnable" type="xsd:boolean">
  <xsd:annotation><xsd:documentation>true/false parameter default 0 (false).</xsd:documentation></xsd:annotation>
</xsd:attribute>

From the factory it is disabled already:

Jan 14, 2015 Question: Finding the default values for configuration parameters for Polycom Phones?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

What is the actual issue you are experiencing?

The next step would be a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
