I'm trying to increase the frequency with which my polycom phones send options packets. I have found a setting line the provider.cfg which seems to allow me to do this, but when I re-provision the phone with the options set I still am not seeing any OPTIONS packets being sent. any ideas? here is part of the current config I am using:

    <voIpProt.SIP
        voIpProt.SIP.enable="1"
        voIpProt.SIP.strictUserValidation="1"
        voIpProt.SIP.sendCompactHdrs="1"
        voIpProt.SIP.pingInterval="10"
        voIpProt.SIP.pingMethod="OPTIONS" >

the last two lines are the options I set to send OPTIONS packets every 10 seconds. (its not working)

Hello soultrip,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always quite useful to post the phone model that you are using and in addition the current software version as this may determine the answer that can be provided.

I quickly tested this on a VVX600 running UCS 5.0.0 and it works as it should.

The phone sends every 10 seconds a SIP OPTIONS message to the SIP Server.

Hello Mir,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition please provide more details what you are doing and what configuration you are using.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
