Hi

Is there a way to define the number that is shown on a recievers phone? I am employed in a company with several different departments, and we want the phones in a specific department to show the department group number on the recievers phone?

Example:

Department 1, has the group number 70 10 20 30, and there is 3 telephones in the department, 70 10 20 33, 70 10 20 35, and 70 10 20 37.

When one of the members make a call the reciever should see "Call from 70 10 20 30".

Department 2, has the group number 70 10 20 40, and there is 3 telephones in the department, 70 10 20 43, 70 10 20 45, and 70 10 20 47.

When one of the members make a call the reciever should see "Call from 70 10 20 40".

Is it possible to do this, and if it is, how?

Kind regards

Per Krog

Hello Per Krog,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

If LYNC or Skype please provide Version details and if these are on premise of off premise

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition we know nothing about the switch you are using. Usually it depends on the PABX so I would ask whoever installed this in your organisation.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello Per Krog,

UC Software 3.3.3 is no longer supported and has been replaced with UC Software 4.0.11 but I suggest you work with whoever installed this in your organisation.
