Hello.

I am defining entries in {MAC}-directory.xml with a speed dial number. Those entries show up under "Favourites" and can be selected and then dialed.

But can i actually somehow _dial_ those numbers? I don't want to go to some sub-menu to dial those entries. I mean, it's called speed _dial_.

Hardware: Multiple VVX410, 5.6.0.17325

Thanks.

Hello xu

As long as these have the Favorite Index populated aka the <sd> part they should show up automatically on the Main screen as shown in the FAQ => here <=

If this does not happen you need to raise a ticket with support.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

They do show up in the favourites (not on the main screen as the main screen is already populated by a blf). I still like to _dial_ these speed dial entries and i dont want to have to select them via the 4-way-control.

(Example: John Doe has the speed dial <sd>123</sd>. Is there a way to dial this number via some code or menu entry and the actual number '123'?)

Thanks.

Hello Xu,

As stated in the FAQ already:

  • If you use the Lauren Gates as shown above you would dial 13# and the contact 555555556 would be dialed.

I believe you can only use this for two digit Favorites but not for three digits. This is a limitation on our end.

Xu,

Is there any documentation stating that only 2 digit sd entries can be dialed using the sd#?

The article on creating the local directory states that entries 1-9999 can be assigned. If those values can be assigned, why can they not be speed dialed using XXX# or XXXX# (3 and 4 digit speed dials).

Here is the link to the documentation I am referencing:

Hello Xu,

as already outlined we changed this in Software version 5.3.0 and later.

As I am doing the admin "job" in my spare time I do not always have the time to update all the FAQ's.

Best Regards
