Hi,

I have a Polycom Trio endpoint registered to Cisco UCM and I have the latest firmware 5.9 installed on Trio. My customer wants to integrate the Trio conference phone to webex so to connect easy to a webex meeting using the Trio. I can see in the settings menu that the "Skype for Business Sign In" is greyed out. I haven't found any useful document what explains in this case what to do and what are the integration opportunities for Webex. I would imagine to receive a Calendar invite on Trio then jump in the Webex session with one touch option.

Hello @Spyke88 ,

as stated in the linked FAQ post you either change the configuration file that is attached and import it via the Web Interface or add this afterwards via

  • And add your credentials manually via Menu > Settings > Basic > Login Credentials

You will, of course, require an account on AD or Online Exchange to be able to connect and parse calendar invites.

Other people can try and help you and if this fails please work with your Poly reseller as they are your Tier 1 support.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Another question is whether I can integrate it with exchange server first at least to be able to receive calendar invite for a meeting. What I managed to do so far is to enable the Calendar application.

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for your prompt answer. I have already added the configuration file and I used the UPLOAD version of the syntax. However, I can't find it where to type the login credentials in the Admin Web GUI of the phone. I attached the menu options available. Also, I think that I have to create a user in AD to put the right and same credentials somehow on the phone. I feel a bit lost to be honest and I am not sure that the phone build we have is approprtiate for such a calendar integration. A bit more help would be appreciated.

Hi Steffen,

One more thing. We managed to integrate the calendar on Trio 8800 and if the phone is invited to the scheduled webex meeting then the Join button appears correct. Problem is that when we push the Join button it tries to dial the number 2019, (see picture attached). I copied the following config file on the phone, is it correct or I shall modify the Regex section?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <UPLOAD> <ALLfeature.fecc.enabled="0" dialplan.applyToDirectoryDial="1"dialplan.digitmap.lineSwitching.enable="1" dialplan.1.digitmap.mode="regex"dialplan.1.digitmap=".+@.+\.webex\.com"exchange.meeting.parseAllowedSipUriDomains="webex.com"exchange.meeting.parseEmailsAsSipUris="1"exchange.meeting.parseOption="All"/></UPLOAD>

Hello @Spyke88 ,

We would need to see a backup in order to verify the configuration you imported is actually on the phone.

This all comes into support territory which I am unable to provide. Other community users are welcome to comment.

The next step is a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

I don't know if I misunderstood or if Polycom doesn't understand webex.  Because I have a similar question.  I have my trio 8800 units with visual+ connected to my CUCM, but I do not have expressway's set up, so I cannot dial SIP URI's.  When the marketing materials all say you can register to webex, skype for business, zoom, etc., I assumed that meant an actual registration, not SIP dialing.  Webex, I know for sure, actually acts as a registrar for SIP devices in lieu of a CUCM.  So my goal was to register to CUCM as well as to Webex simultaneously so that I could have internal calls made as well as webex calls made without an expressway.

Did I misunderstand?
