Hi

I have around 50 IP6000 conference phones in a remote site that need to be upgraded to (at least) UC4.0.2B. I have no technical resource at that site, so need to know if there is a way to enter the provision server details and force an upload of the current configuration to an FTP server via the 3.3.x Web GUI.

I suspect the answer is no, but just in case there is a "hidden" feature - such as telnet to a CLI, I though I would ask.

Regards

Paul

Hello Paul,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above explains in detail how to simply provision the phone with the relevant provisioning setting via a DHCP string.

Rebooting the phone via disabling PoE on the switches would reboot the phones. If that would not work a manual low tech power off / power on via the phones power supply would be needed.

There is also the Check-SYNC method described in this FAQ post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Reboot the Phone remotely or via the Web Interface

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above relies on a provisioning server being setup prior to this.

I appreciate the answer - I have the provisioning server set up, tested and working. However, the issue is that when I perform the upgrade of the UC it will wipe the configuration off the phone - hence I need a way to remotely pull the configuration back to the provision server so that when the upgrade is complete I can push it back out.

Hello Paul,

if you simply install the currently running software version on the phone on your provisioning server and reboot them they will upload their configuration.

There should be no loss of configuration when moving from UCS 3.3.x to UCS 4.x.x
