Hello jiji,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

You phone was purchased back in September 2009 so I doubt you have not since then tried to update to a newer Software.

Most likely you are trying to upgrade to the new UC Software 4.x.x and are not following the instructions causing the phone to be unable to load the software.

I have to assume this as you did not provide any other details describing what you are trying to do.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?

I wanted to add this IP650 phone to our existing setup which includes IP 600 phones.  I suspect the problem is that the software on the FTP server is not compatable with the IP650. I believe the existing system has a sip.cfg version 1.130.2 and the sip version is 2.1.2.. I think the phone version is 4.3.0

If my assumption is correct, can you point me to the downgrader software and instructions.

Thanks

It seems a simple matter of copying the correct part number.sip.id file onto the FTP server in the same folder as the current files and then power up the new phone.  Is that it?
