Good Morning
I've a problem of integration between IP7000 and a Siemens OpenScape MX
the problem is due to a mismatch of firmware
unfortunately IP7000 has a release 3.3.3.0069 such as SIP and BootROM as a release 4.3.1.0887 and I have never done an upgrade from these releases
who knows help me step by step to upgrade?

Hi

I am trying to upgrade my Polycom 7000 at work without any success. This is what I have done:

Actions:

1. I have a TFTP server which is my provisioning server

2. Downloaded the Software version that I am looking for from Here which has only 3 files (updater, 3111-1500-001, 311-400000-001)

3. Downloaded the Bootroom 4_4_0B upgrade realease

4. Extracted all the file in a folder in the provisioned server

5. Pointed the 7000 to that server following THIS

Result:

It loaded the file formatted the file system

Now its stuck to this screen and rebooting

Question:

1. Where can I get this config file?

2. I have another Polycom 7000 on the network, I have exported that an renamed to <mac>.cfg and that didnt work

I have read all the posts and no where a 000000000.cfg file is available to download

This page says: Downloading the compatible SIP / UC Software from the Polycom Support Page => here <= always contains a 000000000000.cfg.""

But, my SIP/UC software did not have a 000000000000.cfg file

Many Thanks

The above links were helpful but it upgraded me to higher versions, now need to downgrade.

1. Where can I get a downgrader for 5.0.12. As i am downgrading to 5.0.8

2. I need to upgrade BootBlock, looking for a 3.0.2.0024, could not find anywhere

Also, is there a way to copy the updater/bootblock from the working Polycom and import that to the faulty one?

Many Thanks

Hello Kazia,

Again the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 11,2017 Question:Do I ever need to upgrade the BootBLOCK of my Polycom phones?

Resolution: The only phone that needs the BootBLOCK updated it the VVX1500 when upgrading to UC Software 5.2.0 or later as explained  => here <=

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.

There is no need to upgrade /downgrade the BootBlock and all our software aka SIP / UC Software and Updater can be found on our support page.

If you struggle with this please work with your Polycom reseller.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks for the link.

But, is there a way to copy the updater/bootblock from the working Polycom and import that to the faulty one?

HP Recommended

Hello Kazia,

there is no way to backup a SIP/UC Software/BootROM/BootBLOCK from a phone and import into another.

I am unsure why you believe your phone is faulty and would need more details on this.

If you follow the FAQ you can upgrade the IP7000 to the latest supported UC Software 4.0.12 and the matching BootROM/Updater 5.0.12

The phone itslelf will automatically have the relevant compatible BootBLOCK.

Downgrading to any compatible SIP/ UC Software and the matching BootROM/Updater is also described in the FAQ and various other instructions.

For anything else you need to open a ticket as explained below.
