Hi Guys,

Ive called support - and various other people about this - to no avail.

I have a client who has a voip system through Engin. They have their main SIP number + 9 other numbers that hang off it.

They just purchased an IP Station 5000 and would like it setup to use one of the "other numbers" that hangs off the main number.

The settings on the ip station only allow for the main number/password to be setup - and nowhere for the additional number to be setup - Meaning that when I put the main number in - it works - But thats their switch number and we dont want all calls going through it.

According to Polycom support and Transition Systems - they state its not possible to set this up?

Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Hello XPOSE,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

You have in some way already kind of answered your own post as the SIP switch provider and our support team had communicated the possibilities to you.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Can I register or is my Polycom Phone compatible with a “XYZ” SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above post explains in detail how to setup a single line registration. Multiple lines, depending on the phone, can be registered.

If you SIP provider gives you the details for one of the "other" numbers to register against you "should" be able to make outgoing calls.

You "may" not be able to receive incoming calls but the only person that can truly answer this is your provider / supplier of your SIP switch.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
