Hello all.

I have IP321 handsets installed, and I'm having a problem changing the ring tone. If you go through the settings and change the ringer the normal way, it says that it is changed, but when you ring the phone (internal and external) you get the default ring again? Any ideas??

Cheers 🙂

Hello Eyes,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to post the currently used phone software as this may affect the answer that can be provided.

In addition the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 25, 2011 Question: How can I change my Ringtone or Ring in a special manner for a certain incoming call?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above may in your case override the custom ringtone you selected.

A few more details would be needed before someone can provide a more detailed answer.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks for that. My software version is 3.2.1.0054.

A bit more information. If you manually change the ring tone on the handset a config file appears in C:\TFTP\current

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
<PHONE_CONFIG>
 <OVERRIDES reg.1.ringType="10"/>
 </PHONE_CONFIG>

But if you ring the phone it still rings with the original tone.
