I am trying to get distinctive ring working on our IP500 and 501 handsets but not having much luck.

I have followed a few guides but without success.

I am experimenting with a 501 handset just now and hoping that what works with the 501 will just be a copy/paste to the config of a 500

What I have at the moment is this: (which was copied from another forum post for a 450 handset that claims to work)

I'm also not sure what I have to put in server side to trigger it.  For example I want High Trill .  I have put in (In the Alert Info box) - High Trill and also <High Trill> and "High Trill" but nothing works

Can anyone advise

Thanks

Hello Sc00by,

old and no longer supported phones like the SPIP500 or SPIP501 using older SIP versions which used older configuration parameters.

The sip.cfg / phone1.cfg or the relevant sip_xxx.cfg / phone1_xxx.cfg and the admin guide need to be consulted.

You should be able to find some "older" instructions using Google or other search engines.

An example that should illustrate this can be found => here <=

The FAQ post's usually state what Software Version certain configuration examples have been tested against.
