Hi all,

 

I have just updated my IP 550 to the latest UCS 4.0.1.13681 and the phone just wouldn't register to my sip trunk provider. Running debug on the phone and found the IP550 sent a registration message to sip server, sip server responded with 401 unauthorized, IP 550 suppose to send another register sip with digest authentication info but it didn't.

 

Here is what I can find from the log, is there a way around this or do I have to downgrade back to my old firmware?

I cannot confirm the issue that you just posted.

 

Starting up a SPIP550 running UCS 4.0.1.13681

 

  1. SIP Request: Register without Digest
  2. SIP Status: 401 Unauthorized
  3. SIP Request: Register with Digest
  4. SIP Status: 200 OK

here is my config and I have tried everything I can think off. Do I need to add this into the config (voIpProt.SIP.requestValidation.digest.method) ?

Hello dlau,

 

your first example shows a User of  123 and you second post shows a user of 1234.

 

Best suggestion would be to export the configuration via the Web Interface as you may have made some changes via the Phones GUI and then via the Web Interface.

 

The Phone GUI always win's.

 

If above does not help either downgrade again or raise this with your Polycom Reseller.

 

In my test a standard configured SPIP550 works fine with the digest challenge.
