I'm having trouble with an IP6000.  I'm using bootrom 4.3.0 and UC split 3.3.2.  I also tried 3.3.1F and got same results.

When I plugged in the phone it downloaded the new bootrom and rebooted fine.  Then downloaded the new application.  However, after downloading, the phone says "Application not present" and continuously reboots.

I have 3111-15600-001.sip.ld on the TFTP server and as far as I can tell the phone can download the file.  The bootrom is sitting right next to it and it gets that fine.

In the log file below you can see that it says it can't get the application name.  I'm stumped.  The error message seems pretty clear, but I guess I don't know how to tell it the application name.  I expected it to downlaod the <model-number>-sip.ld

My configuration file is as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?><APPLICATION APP_FILE_PATH="sip.ld" CONFIG_FILES="0004f2ec3cafreg.cfg, server.cfg" MISC_FILES="" LOG_FILE_DIRECTORY="/polycom/logs/" OVERRIDES_DIRECTORY="/polycom/overrides/" CONTACTS_DIRECTORY="/polycom/contacts/"/>

The phone's log file is:

Hello yzpilot,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I usually would recommend to work this issue via your Polycom Reseller and/or Polycom Support directly.

The BootROM for the SSIP6000 and SSIP7000 shows this behavior in the 4.3.0 Version only when using TFTP Provisioning.

Please either change the provisioning method to FTP or HTTP or downgrade the SSIP6000 to BootROM 4.2.3.

A fix will be implemented in the upcoming BootROM 4.3.1

Best regards

That was it.  I downgraded the bootrom and it came right up.

Thanks for your help.

I encountered the same error message with SPIP321 with bootrom 4.3.0.  The phone could load bootrom 4.3.0 from tftp server but complained the application 3.3.2 not present.  Should I do the same to downgrade bootrom version?

Hello GC,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Using TFTP to our Knowledge on a SSIP6000 or SSIP 7000 with the BootROM 4.3.0 will show this behavior. Downgrade to BootROM 4.2.3 and await the release of the BootROM 4.3.1.

I am not aware of this on a SPIP3xx so please work with your Polycom Reseller and/or Polycom Support.

Best Regards

While I was in the process of switching from a linksys router to netgear hub the phone later could not find 0004F2A5078B.cfg.

I have made this switch before and not encountered this error suddenly it seems the main cfg is missing or not readable.

The phone says updating initial configuration then says could not download 0004F2A5078B.cfg then application not present.

And continues reboot cycle. I'm in the process of redounding the latest firmware .tgz via my freepbx console. I have backed up the phone but don't know how to use the file and not sure this will repair the bootrom or boot block if that's the case or  problem there.

Maybe I have this all wrong thinking 0004F2A5078B.cfg is part of boot rom. I later updated the boot block, states :try 1-2 and 3 bad retrying etc.. Failed to flash all times

What should I do hear

Thank you, looks like it was option # 3 in regards to error loading 00xxxxxxxxxx.cfg.

It must have been related to my recent change in ip address. Fortunately the phone loaded the application hours later.

I had an idea that was the case but was currently having some trouble with Re: Polycom web interface password issue

explained in the last post of the page here.

I went about 4-6 weeks with out having any log-in trouble but seems to have resurfaced

I found that if i force a new ip address for the phone via the router it usually will take care of the problem.

However i would like to find a more appropriate fix for this as my options are limited with linksys router--having to change the starting point of the DHCP server thus resulting in new server address leading to compilcations of loading 00xxxxxxxxxx.cfg.(from the bad address)
