I have a PBX customer who has an IP6000.  I configured the PBX end for SIP phone useage and he configured the IP6000.

It has successfully registered to the PBX and it accepts incoming calls just fine.  However, all attempts to dial anything from the phone fail.  We cannot dial an internal 3-digit ext or even just '9' to get an outside line.  Any dialing attempt results in an error tone from the IP6000, seemingly before any digits are ever sent to the PBX.  I am not onsite, but I think that you get the error as soon as you press SEND.

Does anyone have any info about this issue and how to properly configure around it?

Thanks!

Hello DocRoc,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Have a look at this post here as well:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The FAQ contains troubleshooting tips if the above is not the root cause.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks Steffen.  Sorry not to have included the UC version - I will get those from my customer.
