When I upgrade the firmware on an IP650 phone, I got the following issue:

 

The phone was stuck showing "Downloading new bootROM" and the TFTP server I use (Tftpd32) shows an error message as well:

 

And then the phone restarts again with the same error.

 

Please see below for the TFTP server log:

welcome to the Polycom Community.

 

Your original post was at 7:27 and your follow up post was at 7:57 so you may want to give people some time to read your post.

 

If you require such urgent attention you need to contact your Polycom reseller who you purchased the phone from.

 

A good starting point for any post is usually to provide some background information like the old software version and what the new software version is you would like to upgrade to.

 

In addition you mention both an error message on your TFTP server and on the phone but fail to provide details or the wording of these.

The firmware on this IP650 was 3.2.2 before and was working. 

 

I would like to upgrade it to firmware 4.0.x.

 

The error message on the phone is "Downloading new bootROM". You can also check the attachment for the photo of the error message on the phone.

 

And the error on Tftpd32 is like:

I successfully upgraded an IP670 to 4.0.7 today. 

 

But with the same split files and bootROM files, I still got the same error on IP650.

 

And I couldn't downgrade this IP650 to 3.x either now.

 

Could you please help?

The BootROM message is not an error message, this is a simple status message what the phone is currently doing.

 

Please follow my advise in the above linked FAQ post and utilize FTP.
