I am having quite a hard time to upgrade the SoundStation IP7000 to the newest bootrom and softare. Is there any place I can find a consice and step-by-step instructions? My biggest fear is having to read all 300+ pages of the admin guide when I just need to basically know what files to put on the server for the phone to download. Currently I am stuck on an "image not compatible" reboot loop. Renaaming the BootRom was quite a poor decision.

Yes I am already aware of the basic steps to setup the phone for a new version. The issue is the IP7000 is stuck in an endless reboot look with the "updating bootrom" message followed by the "image not compatible with the phone" when using these files:

 

SoundPoint_IP_BootROM_4_4_0_Upgrader_release_sig.zip

Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_1_rts73_P_release_sig_split.zip

The first time I ran the process it also formatted the filesystem so there is not any working application on the phone. Is there any chance Polycom has a public server I could just point this phone to so it can get the newest updates?

firstly you never need to rename any files.

 

The FAQ post I provided has all the details and they are rather easy to follow.

 

The phone will write various logs that you can check against the downloaded files.

 

In addition, when the phone starts what timer is being displayed ?

 

Counting down from 10 or less or a larger number?
