Hi,

We have bought a IP7000 as specified here http://www.polycom.de/content/dam/polycom/common/documents/data-sheets/soundstation-ip-7000-ds-enus....

Unfortunately we cannot find the mentioned USB 1.1 port. Please give advice.

Regards

Hello advendio,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The USB port is hidden behind the flap on the side of the SSIP 7000 but has no functionality for an end user.

The linked documentation simply states the fact that the unit is equipped with such.

This is one of the strangest devices we ever bought. Ridicilous telephone"support" for a 700 Euro device. A USB port without functionality? Why mentioning it in the specification when the port is not active?

There is an important requirement for USB - using it for web conferencing like GoToMeeting or WebEx.

We will ship it back. Not sure to buy a product of your company soon. Thanks for understanding.

Hello advendio,

the SSIP7000 is not advertised or documented to be compatible with any of the products you mentioned and as stated in my initial reply these ports are for Polycom usage only.

Certain countries require the data sheet to be very specific so therefore we mention the ports that are included in a phone but none of the documentation states that these can be used for USB recording or third party applications.

Please work with your Polycom reseller if you require any further clarification.
