Integrating click-to-call with Polycom VVX 500



I've read the user manual for the Polycom VVX 500, but haven't found any information on how to implement click-to-call from a website.


We built an intranet for our customer support that allows to call clients directly by clicking on their phone numbers. With our previous VoIP phones, the integration was pretty straightforward. The format was either http://<ip address of server>/?number_out=<phone number>, and clicking on the link would call the phone number.


Apparently, it's not the case with the Polycom VVX 500, and I can't for the life of me find any information about this seemingly simple process online. How should the click to call links be formatted to do the trick?

welcome to the Polycom Community. Polycom phones do not offer the exact same way of dialing a number.

I see that the example provided on the page you linked mentions command-line parameters and so on. Since I'm not a system administrator, isn't there an simple example of a web script (PHP, ASP, etc.) or at least the HTML format that needs to be used to trigger the actions? Which parameters need to be sent to the application?
