Hello,

I'm looking for a phone allowing an operator to monitor 120 phone extensions from an Asterisk setup.

By monitoring, I mean being able to:

- see who is on call and who is not, using paging keys,

- transfer to or dial any phone extension using paging and BLF keys.

In 5.4.1 Admin Guide, it is mentioned that a VVX phone:

- cannot have more than 50 or 48 BLF,

- can have up to 252 keys, using up to 3 VVX Color Expansion Modules.

My question is:

is it  possible to monitor 120 extensions with a VVX phone and 2 expansion modules ?

Best regards

Hello olivier2831,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

As you have already verified from the Admin Guide the maximum of watched aka Buddie watch or Busy Lamp field using a Subscribe and Notify method is 50.

You can add as many speed dials as you have keys as the limit of speed dials is 500 for a VVX.

Thanks for replying.

For curiosity's sake, does this limit also apply with BLF Lists in Broadsoft environment ?

PS: Some Snom phones, if I'm not mistaken, have a configurable setting with which a sysadmin can define a time duration during which SIP subscriptions occur.

For instance, with a 600s period and 100 BLFs, Snom phone would send one subscription every 6 seconds.

Hello olivier2831,

yes that is also for BroadWorks.

Other Phone manufacturers may allow more than that but as this is a Polycom community we only discuss our own phones and their functionality.
