Hi all,

we are trying to update our autoprovisioning to 4.0.1. Everything is running very smooth, except the web language for the tested phones (SoundStation 6000, SoundStation 7000).

Default WebUI is English International.

When the WebUI language is switched to i.e. Deutsch (de-de), the phone downloads some file (languages/Website_dictionary_language_de-de.xml) from the provisioning server, and then displays:

Error: Failed to parse language file.

We set very few settings in the <lcl\>:

<lcl>
    <lcl.datetime>
      <lcl.datetime.time lcl.datetime.time.24HourClock="1" />
    </lcl.datetime>
    <lcl.ml lcl.ml.lang="German_Germany"></lcl.ml>
  </lcl>

We have verified via Wireshark that the file is delivered correctly to the phone.

Now we are officially out of ideas - is this a known issue with the 4.0.1 release?

Best regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have just tested this in my Lab with a SPIP7000 configured to run on LYNC (I am aware that this is not officially supported!) and changed the language to German and then changed the Web Interface Language to German and could see on my FTP Server that the file was requested and delivered.

If you still believe you have an issue please raise this via your Polycom Reseller as I am unable to reproduce this.

Check the app / boot log files from the Phone (or on the Web Interface) to check if any errors regarding the configuration are reported.

These can then be provided to Polycom together with a Backup from the phone and the Configuration that you provisioned the phone with.

An idea would be to remove any Phone related Configuration from your Provisioning Server, Flash the Filesystem and then manually change the settings to German and 24h Clock on the SSIP via the Menu and add the SIP Details via the Web Interface.

This will cause the data to be uploaded to the Provisioning server and enable you to backup the Data from the Web Interface.

Best Regards

I may have been unclear in the first post.

- phone provisioning works

- provisioning of phone langauge works

- WebUI is english, if changed via the drop down field in the upper right the error occurs.

The log does not state anything regarding the WebUI language file download failing, which is rather odd. Do we need to set a special debug level for this?

Best regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

as mentioned above I have done the same and it changes the language into German.

Please raise this with your Polycom Reseller.

In addition to the above issues, we have also recently (for the first time ever with polycom) received stability issue reports with SP650, SSIP6000 and SSIP7000. The devices were simply rebooting during active calls.

We have now migrated all of our customers back to v3.3.4 - and it's all good.

Best regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

thanks for providing some feedback but as previously explained any issues need to be logged via your Polycom Reseller.
