I am trying to implement the Corporate Directory feature in my environment, and I keep running into a snag.  For some reason my phones keep returning "Authentication method not supported" in the application log.  I can find no errors, and I have no clue what authentication method it is attempting... or if it can be modified.  I have ripped through the administrators guide and still found nothing.

I'm running app ver 4.0.3F if that helps.

Hello TheCompWiz,

the VoIP FAQ contains a post => here <= explaining a basic LDAP setup and providing a follow up link to the official Polycom document.

The FAQ post and the documentation also explains what LDAP servers are supported and the document explains how to utilize the log and log levels to identify issues.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I've torn through that document several times, and still I find myself stuck.  In short, I cannot find a version of openldap (or sasl) that supports the GSS-SPNEGO method of authentication.  I have other phones in my network (xorcom) that just do a simple bind that do not have any problems.  I am actually surprised that the phone cannot do anonymous binds either.  I am running a *supported version* of openldap, and yet I'm still stuck.  There is no documentation saying that the LDAP server *MUST* support GSS-SPNEGO for authentication, or is there any documentation on how to tell the phone to use another authentication method.  Can you please give me some additional information?

Hello TheCompWiz,

the correct way forward, if you believe that your setup is correct, is to raise this via your Polycom reseller and bring this to the attention of Polycom support.

You can try and post further information here for other community members but myself as a Polycom employee cannot provide free support.

Best Regards
