Can we make the Lines Screen available when asked to enter the extension number after pressing the PTT softkey?

I've been trying to configure a VVX-410 PTT feature. I'd like to have the Lines Screen view when I press the PTT softkey so I can quickly select a favorite or BLF line to dial instead of entering the extension number. Currently, when I press PTT it will only allow me to enter the extension number with no other options. This is even after I configured the following:

up.OffHookLineView.enabled="1"
up.LineViewCallStatus.enabled="1"

Hoping for your help.

Hello @jamimo

the last example I posted would do this for you but unfortunately, this functionality is not available for your legacy VVX phones.

Only the "newer" VVX phones can run UC Software 6.0.0 or later.

Best Regards

Hello @jamimo ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
  • Provide the Phone Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP,Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync, Zoom, BlueJeans and/or Hybrid Registration)
  • Provide details if UC / SIP or ObiEdition
  • Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS or BToE)
  • If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question

UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package

  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Please ensure you always check the FAQ's and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up posts.

I am unsure you understand what PTT / GroupPaging is:

Jan 21, 2014 Question: How can I use PTT / Push To Talk / Paging /Page?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

With the above, you use channels and not extensions.

Did you mean BLF?

Nov 4, 2011 Question: How can I setup a Busy Lamp Field / BLF with an Digium Asterisk SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Or simply Intercom?

Aug 19, 2015 Question:Can I setup an Intercom functionality?

Resolution: Please check this post => here <=

An EFK can be used to utilize fixed extensions.

A feature to combine some of the above was added in UC SOftware 6.0.0 which is not compatible with your legacy VVX.

It is explained >here<

Hi Steffen,

Sorry for this late reply. Below are the required basic info:

Phone Basic Information
Phone Model: VVX 410
Part Number: 3111-46162-001 Rev:A
MAC Address: 00:04:F2:55:F6:E4
IP Mode: IPv4
IP Address: 192.168.2.112
UC Software Version: 5.9.5.0614 (SIP/UC using PDMS)
Updater Version: 5.9.7.32930

Call Platform: Cisco BroadWorks

Please note that this is a day 1 issue. Though, I am referring to the feature as PTT (the term used by BroadWorks for this feature), it is actually Intercom feature on Poly. So we have a softkey button labelled PTT and when pressed it will ask for the extension number of the callee. It is also configured as auto-answer so the caller can just talk right away after entering the extension.

Also note that the feature is working. However, I am hoping that when the PTT button is pressed the Lines screen is shown instead of entering the extension number. Or, at least an option to go to the Lines screen so the user can conveniently select from the configured BLFs.

Attched is the phone backup config.

Thank you for your help.
