Dear Team,

 

I am using Polycom VVX 300s and are pulling local contact directories from a server.

 

We would a solution for the following;

 

1. What is the parameter used to stop displaying a "Nick Name" when browsing the directory?

 

2. What parameter is used to sort the contact directory by "First Name"?

 

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello Sx,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

If not LYNC / Skype for Business please provide us details what SIP platform is being used and in addition what type of Directory.

 

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The platform is Genband and UC software is the latest for VVX 300.

Hello Peter,

Your reply still does not contain the requested information on the currently used software version.

 

Specifying the "latest" does not answer the question and is irrelevant in days/weeks/months to come for other users finding this post.

 

I suggest you check the UC Software 5.5.0 Admin Guide Page 198 as it contains:

 

  • Configure Polycom Phones with GENBAND Server

Genband support and whoever setup your phone system should be consulted for any further questions.
