Hey,

Thanks for taking the time to read. I looked around the forums and could not find anything. I  would like to remove the ability to lower the ring volume of the phones. I still want to be able to use the key to lower the volume of the calls a person may be on.

Firmware is 401b

Currenelty, I have the volume down button set now to do nothing.

Is there a way to configure the phone to lock the volume at a minimum and not allow the person to lower it all the way down.

<button>
<key key.SPIP331.24.function.prim="Null" />
</button>

Volume of the calls is persisnt to keep the prior settings.

<voice.volume>
<voice.volume.persist voice.volume.persist.handset="1" voice.volume.persist.handsfree="1" voice.volume.persist.headset="1" voice.volume.persist.usbHeadset="1">
<voice.volume.persist.bluetooth voice.volume.persist.bluetooth.headset="1">
</voice.volume.persist.bluetooth>
<voice.volume.persist.usb voice.volume.persist.usb.handsfree="1">
</voice.volume.persist.usb>
</voice.volume.persist>
</voice.volume>

Hello PatReady,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This is not a currently supported feature to my knowledge and you would need to raise this as a feature request via your Polycom reseller.

Hello,

Current is there any configuration for lock volume ringer?

On Polycom 330, uc 3.x I used de string:

<gains
voice.gain.rx.digital.ringer.IP_330="15"
/>

I did read the admin manual us 4, but wasn't clear for me. I saw that this string is "Discontinued".

Thanks for your attention.

For anyone who is looking for this.

up.ringer.minimumVolume="0"

Configure the minimum ringer volume. This parameter defines how many volume steps are accessible below the maximum level by the user.
16 (Default) - Full 16 steps of volume range are accessible.
0 - Ring volume is not adjustable by the user and the phone uses maximum ring volume.
Example: Upon bootup, the volume is set to ½ the number of configured steps below the maximum (16). If the parameter is set to 8 on bootup, the ringer volume is set to 4 steps below maximum.

Hello @SamFiller

thanks for updating this post.

Just as a quick FYI this post was raised on a UC Software 4.0.1 and the parameter you shared only exists since UC Software 5.3.3 or later back in April 2017.

Best Regards

Thank you Sam for the info! Which config file will this be found on? I was thinking that I needed to export config file, but I cannot find the right line on the config files that's showing this:

up.ringer.minimumVolume="0"

Where can I find this option? If it does not exist, and I need to manually add it, where is the line being added and in which config file?

NOTE: I have a VVX410 and on version UC 5.5.3.2169

Thanks so much in advance!!  Any help is appreciated!

Hello @cgallego

again it depends on the phone being used to be on the right UC Software.

I've seen that link in the past and its just filled with a ton of information and it s tough to pinpoint my own scenario. Can you guide me to find the VXX410 with UC 5.5.3.2169? I appreciate your help!
