I have an issue where mapping an EFK softkey to an assisted transfer to 700 (call parking) causes the phone to crash/reboot when used in speakerphone mode.  In working with my reseller I've turned logging up to the Debug level for EFK, Network and SIP.

So I call another extension, press my softkey, and then repear this until the phone crashes (usually no more than 4 times).  I repeat this crash inducing defect several times then I export my app and boot logs.  However, I don't seem to see in the SIP logging that I ever called another extensions.  Do logs get deleted when rebooting?  My logs are surprisingly short for a series of tests where I made over 20 or 30 calls.

Phone: SoundPoint IP335 (although I can reproduce the issue on IP550, IP650, VVX500, etc)

Firmware: 4.0.4

Hello redwolf,

if the phone crashes it may simply has no time or way to store the logs.

If you are already working with your reseller and/or Polycom support the team should usually advise you what or how to capture these logs.

I suggest you use something like syslog and then use wireshark on a spanned port so you see the SIP signaling going and coming from the phone and also the logs.

Maybe post the EFK configuration here as well.

Best Regards

Yes, my reseller has already directed me how to get the logs at the most verbose level...I was just thinking there would be more in them.  But yeah you're probably right, if it's crashing then logging probably isn't happening correctly/completely.

Also, yes, I've sent a thorough capture to my reseller and if we can't figure it out he'll escalate it.  I did notice that at some point there is a connection back to beta.polycom.com.  As a security issue, I'm wondering what are my phones uploading/downloading?

Thanks Steffen.
