Have an issue where MWI indicators will turn on randomly for 2 minutes (no vm) then turn off.  Majority of phones are 501s and 601s however newly added 331s have been effected as well.

 

From packet captures we do not see MWI activity and even when voicemail is disabled on the phone the MWI indicator will randomly turn on.

 

Currently firmare used is 3.1.3 and 3.2.3 however per a previous Polycom suggestion we attempted using the 3.1.7 firwmare with the same results.

 

Is this an issue with the older phones on a newer version of asterisk (Asterisk 1.6.0.28)?

Hello BR,

For issues like this we would need to see some logs and accompanying wireshark traces which requires a support ticket. Please work with your Polycom reseller and/or Polycom support directly.

Understood however unfortunately we have done packet captures and no MWI notify messages are being sent at the time of the issue. Is there something else I'll need to provide or is this type of "phantom mwi" common with older models?
