We just implemented the Multicast paging on our 4.0.4 version phones.  The feature works fine when the phone is in an idle state.  However, when in off hook, or hold, when you would usually use the Paging function, there is no Key.

Is there a way to change this behavior without adding a EFK soft key.  Or, has this been corrected in later versions of the software?

following an earlier post, I was able to add the soft key using the $FPage$ action.  However, this is a bit of a hack since the button is there by default when the feature is activated.  We added our soft key to just the Dialtone, and Hold statuses and used the precede =1 tag so that our new key would appear close to where the default would have been.

Thank you

Hello Mike,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Example 5 is what you are after. Simply add the same softkey in the hold scenario. The FAQ post explains all the details you require.
