Hello,

My company is seeking an option to connect a device that is both speaker and mic that can connect to this phone. I know it can already connect to headsets so I do not see why something that has a loud speaker and a mic that can pick up noises from longer distance isn't compatibile, right?

I also understand that a loud speaker is a feature that is built in to the phone however, we want to place the phone at the users personal desk at the side of his office and put the speaker at his small conference table in the middle of the room.

Are there any options for this? (Escpially wireless ones would be ideal). If so, can you suggest some specific products to use?

I'd like to know the answer too!

We are looking for external mir/speaker for a VVX phone.

Thank you!

Hello all,

I am not aware of any "headset" devices that can fulfil such request and neither does Polycom manufacture these.

On the VVX phones with a USB port a C100 would work or similar USB devices.

Steffen, did you mean Communicator C100?

I've inquired about it and was told it's for PC only.

The idea of using USB port it interesting, but it would restrict us from VVX 300/400 which don't have it (I think updated model VVX 401 does though).

Is USB port in VVX phone supporting any USB audio, or just specific devices?

Thank you!

Hello VoIPonaught,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

I have only tried a C100S as this is the only USB device I have and it get's detected. I do not believe it is limited to that but of course only VVX phones which have a USB port (VVX401, 411, 500, 501, 600 and the 601) will support this.

Other than that we only support headsets or whatever construction you can archive with the Polycom Headset Interface Adapter => here <=

Steffen, thank you for suggestion.

As I can see, C100S is for Skype, would it still work with VVX phones (that have USB port)?

Also - do volume buttons affect microphone's volume, or only its speaker?

Thank you!

Hello VoIPonaught,

You can of course try this with a C100 instead but as stated I only tried with a C100S as this is the only Polycom device I had at hand.

As this post talks originally about a VVX310 which does not support USB I believe we getting off track.

If you want a device with a perfect hands free audio capability please look at our conference phones.
