We are using Polycom 410's.     The receptionist has a side cart.   I want to program a shortcut to allow her to quickly leave a voicemail message (such as the old message pad) on their phone.  i.e. "call john at Acme".

Currently, it appears the only voicemails that can be left are releated to transfer of a call to the extension, let it ring, and voicemail answer.

I want to transfer directly to the Voice Mail for the extension, leave a message, and hang up.

Is there any function currently present that will allow that?

Can a * code be created to handle this ?

CSpire tells me it cannot be done, but having programed other phone systems, it seem like it could be handled as a digit-map.

These articles discuss this and may or may not be related to our platform but are provided here to show that others have accomplished creating this feature.

Any help would be apprecaited.

Hello HShaw,

welcome to the Polycom Community and apologize for the late reply.

The code for the call to be delivered directly into the voicemail or simply dialing the Voice Mail box itself and the dial the digits for the persons number completely depend on your system.

So far we do not even know if you are using a SIP server or LYNC

At present if a sidecar is used with numbers for people pressing this would dial that number.

If you setup a key to dial the voicemail and during this call would press the button for the person would place the call to the voicemail on hold and start a second call to that person.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
