I am new to Polycom phones, and purchased 5 used 430's.  I have 20 or so extensions set with other types of phones, and have never ran into issues trying to boot the device.  First I keep having to default the password by using <removed by the moderator>, gets me into setup, but when it trys to boot via network, it always fails.  what am i missing?  I am using free PBX(astericks) and just cant seem to get anywhere.

thanks for any and all help

Hello Arctic1602,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have removed a reference from your post as we do not publicly describe this within the official Polycom community.

Does the phone show any error message when booting as the statement you provided is quite broad.

The community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

The phone requires a boot server and the above describes in detail how to set this up.

The next step would be a wireshark trace on a spanned port to see what server the phone tries to connect to.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
