POE failure behaviour on PC port

POE failure behaviour on PC port

Using VVX 500s, POE via switch. Users PCs plugged into PC port of the phone(passthrough). What is the behaviour when POE fails on switch and no power to phone? Is the PC still able to access the network?

Hello MS1,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

If the phone does not have power the Ethernet switch within the phone will not work.

Re: POE failure behaviour on PC port

I have the VVX500 with an external power supply, when that is unplugged, the ethernet passthrough also shuts down.
