We recently purchased some Soundpoint ip500 phones to replace broken ip5oo at one of our sites.  However these phones only works with a FTP server.  Our provisioning server only uses TFTP.  Is there any way to change this on our phones?  I've already tried reflashing the phones and nothing seems to work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A good starting point is usually providing the working Phones Software Version and the non working phones.

They are both on bootrom 3.2.3 and Software 2.1.2 not .3. sorry about that.

I am still not sure if I fully understand your issue.

 

Does the phone not have a TFTP option in the menu or is there another issue.

 

Unfortunately these old SoundPoint IP phones are end of sale and end of support since mid 2011 so there is not a lot you can do other than possibly adding a FTP server into your network.

Yes it does have the TFTP option, however it will not contact the TFTP server.  It just sits at "checking application".  I've even manually set it up to point to the TFTP server and receive the same results.

A wireshark trace or the phone logs should show what is going on.

As a Polycom employee I am unable to provide you with free support so you either need to wait for another community member or contact Polycom support.
