Hello LEDAdd1ct,

As already replied have a look at:

Jan 19, 2012 Question: How to troubleshoot Polycom VoIP related Issues?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Simply make another wireshark trace on the Snom or the Soft Client end and compare the bad and the good call.

The above FAQ post contains details what happens when the phone is asnwered and maybe it is a port issue or similar but comparing the wireshark traces should show this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello LEDAdd1ct,

I am experience the same issue as well.  Let me know what you find and I will have to do a trace as well.

@ejfron, thank you for posting.

Maybe together we can figure something out.

I have not had a chance to have my friend call me and do a trace on the other phones/software client.

Please, if you find out anything, please post here and we can both help each other out.  🙂

Okay, I ran the test again with the Polycom VVX 410.

First, I tried enabling port forwarding and had my friend call me.

Those screenshots are here:

Second, I disabled port forwarding and put the phone in the DMZ and once again had my friend call me.

Those screenshots are here:

With both, the phone rings, but I cannot answer.

I set the phone to a static IP of 192.168.1.124 and enabled port forwarding first, then disabled port forwarding and put my phone in the DMZ as seen here:

As before, PhonerLite Portable and my Snom 300 continue to ring and answer perfectly.

Is there a way I can display the screenshots directly in the thread to make it easier for everybody to see instead of having to click on a link?

Hey LEDAdd1ct!

A quick update, we were able to get the Answer button to work to Update the Expires to 60 seconds (see attachment).  Apparantly, with other times, there ended up being multople registrations on our proxy.  And at that time, the Answer button did not work.  With 60 seconds, we only have one registration at all times.

 Hope this helps.

Interesting.

Thank you for posting.

Since there is certainly nothing to lose, I will try this and report back!

EDIT:  I changed the settings as per your picture.  Now, I just need to wait for my friend to come home from work, and then he can call me, and I can test the ability of the phone to successfully answer inbound calls. It would be wonderful if this fixed the problem!

I will post again and report success or failure.

EDIT:  I do strongly believe it is a setting on the phone, as my other hard/softphone both work just dandy.
